Daniel Corbett, an unsung hero

The ultimate weather forecaster?

The ultimate weather forecaster!

And that’s the weather… for now

We first spotted Daniel Corbett in 2005, when we got digital television. Apparently, he began delivering weather forecasts on BBC News 24 in 1997. According to Wikipedia, he’s developed a cult following, thanks to an idiosyncratic style of delivery. One of the things that most impresses me is his Rat Woman Sergeant-Major accent with its bizarre vowels.

I’m not convinced by Recess Monkey’s hypothesis that he’s actually an alien. The man is an unwitting comic genius.

Favourite Daniel Corbett quote? “Watch out for that rain screechin’ down from the north”.
